And just like that, it's September! Aka start of insanely busy season for photographers. Surprise proposals, romantic engagement sessions, portraits outdoors, family sessions, boudoir and of course, gooooorgeous weddings! Let's have some fun this season :)
I spent the last day of August in the City enjoying the night with Sandy and Alex. They are so beautiful, and their wild energy is contagious.
We strolled around City Hall and were lucky enough to avoid crowds and closed roads ( Art Museum area was already blocked by that time due to Made in America festival). We then captured beautiful sunset on top of Cira Green center. 270 days till big day! Can't wait for all the fun and wedding celebrations!
Kimberly James Bridal is a bridal boutique in the heart of Chestnut Hill that offers more than just wedding dresses and accessories. It offers that warm and cozy feeling of home the moment you open the door. It offers great, unforgettable experience that’s about the bride, her wedding vision and her dream dress. Kim and her team want brides to leave her boutique feeling really good about their purchase and experience. Because every bride deserves that “I said yes” experience that only happens once.
Needless to say, salon itself looks sooo beautiful! Every corner invites you to sit down, have a conversation, feel the fabric of gorgeous gowns, try on some cool accessories including bridal shower outfits and personalized jean jackets and celebrate your choice with happiness and excitement.
Kimberly is such a sweet, nice, smart business person who pours her heart, mind and soul into what she does. It was such a pleasure to work together on a video project and capture these behind the scenes. We are super happy and proud to have a business like this in our favorite Chestnut Hill :)
Jessica and Edd and their beautiful, wild chemistry is such a highlight of my summer engagement season. They are both so interesting, so into each other, so good together and genuinely enjoy each other’s company no matter what they do. Asbury Park is one of their favorite places to hang out ( and every photographer’s dream) and that’s where they wanted to have their engagement photo session. It has so much to offer: from original graffiti art to small cozy streets, from stylish distillery to quiet, sun-drenched bridges…
We walked around Asbury Park boardwalk, visited Asbury distillery for a drink, then got some oysters and walked a little more ;) Here are some of our favorites.
No secret that Charleston is one of my favorite places. I’ve been there 3 times now and during my last trip in February, I discovered a simply magical place called Magnolia Plantations and Gardens. It’s been selected as one of "America's Most Beautiful Gardens"! It’s one of the oldest plantations in the South, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places
Needless to say, it was such a pleasure for eyes and soul. I met a cute couple, who met while working there. They answered a few of my questions about gardens and I couldn’t resist taking a few portraits for them as they went out on a walk after a long day of work. Such powerful meaningful memories. Here are some of our favorites images from that warm day in the South.
Ana and Chris have a special kind of chemistry.
We like to get to know our clients and spend some time with them at our initial meeting talking about life, love, values, relationships, traditions etc. Ana and Chris radiate a very warm, calm, romantic energy. They are so into each other and so good together. During our first meeting they told me and showed me how much they value each other and their families. When I asked them what they are most excited about and what they are looking forward to the most on their wedding day, they said : “ We just want everyone to have the best time. We want to celebrate and have fun and be happy.” Could it be any better? ;)
Our engagement session had 2 parts: first we got hit with a storm on a sunny day in July while walking around Manayunk… I had this vision of a nice warm sunset for their love and the second time we got lucky with great weather and all the charm that Valley Forge Park had to offer. Here’s some of our favorites!
Once upon a time, we ended up working in Charleston, South Carolina ( one of my favorite places in the world), at a beautiful Indian wedding. We finished the wedding, but didn’t want to leave the city. So what do you think we ended up doing? Staying for a few more days filled with the best adventures, some bridal shoots, and fun engagement session in a local Charleston Ice cream shop. Here are a few of our favorites!
Location : Republic Ice Cream & Custard (431 King St, Charleston, SC 29403)
This past Thursday was an unforgettable day when we all got to celebrate relaunch and rebrand of Slay Displays. Networking, meeting new people and making amazing connections - what can be better? Funny how I’ve been asking everyone how they met Julia.. and was happy to share my story: we first met at a styled shoot at Anthony Wayne House, a project I got interested in because I saw her name and wanted to meet another russian- speaking vendor in the industry! I got to meet her and her husband and got amazed by how much effort and hard work they put into their craft. All of their flowers, giant letters and backdrops are made by hand… it’s clear they pour all their energy and soul into what they do and always come up with creative ways to wow! Their letters are definitely show stoppers that would be an awesome addition to a surprise proposal, wedding, family celebrations and any other event.
It was awesome to meet new amazing friendors I ‘ve heard of before : Frost 321 are so unique and so cool! While we were filming them, I was literally mesmerized by the way their cocktails are made. Watching them do their magic made me think of summer rooftop parties and how great it would be to have them there. It’s literally entertainment + frozen tasty cocktails ( 2 in 1).
Huge thank you to all the vendors who participated:

Hampus and Julia are “ movie-like” couple! It was a beautiful sunny evening.. we met at Rodin Museum for their engagement photos and spent some time walking around cute little streets in the Fairmount area, found some exquisite “ european flaire” and finished with amazing sunset around Waterworks ( while dancing to a live band at the wedding they had that night ;)
Very romantic, sweet, elegant and in love - here’s our favorite from this soulful Philly engagement session.
Also, we are super excited about video coming out soon. Stay tuned!
Hammocks, showers and surprise proposals season :) Shreedip and Samridhi are engaged! 🥂💍
This hammock at Spruce St Harbor Park is where they had their first date and where she said yes! We all know how unpredictable weather is here in Philly in summer… A few moments before Shreedip was about to ask Sam to marry him, it started to downpour and they got soaking wet. Good thing Hilton hotel was right there where they hid for a few minutes before proceeding. He asked, she said yes! Sam was gleaming and absolutely loved her ring. Their family came to congratulate them on their engagement and we all enjoyed a nice calm evening after the storm and took some romantic photos along the water and in the park.
Kate and Rob said their vows in front of their family on a nice sunny Saturday in June. Their lovely backyard was a perfect setting for a low key, relaxed wedding ceremony. After the ceremony we went to Normandy Farms to take some photos with now Mr and Mrs. Kate and Rob looked awesome and their eyes were full of love and excitement when they were saying their “ I do’s”. Additional bonus : puppy and Star Wars masks. Here’s our favorite moments from that sweet day :)
I thought I’ve seen everything….. but never ever had I seen a bridal party like this. My tears didn’t dry on their own… for like 5 minutes… it took 3 bridesmaids and the warmest strongest hug to make me look normal again :) These people = magic. Pure magic.
As for Jackson and Maxine…. they were absolutely stunning, on top of being the kindest, hard working, nicest people.Just look in their eyes, it’s all there. Crazy to think if I hadn’t noticed Jackson’s post in a local Mt Airy group that he opened a Martial Arts Studio 5 minutes from home and hadn’t gotten in touch last February, we might have not had a chance to work together.
Maxine’s beauty, Jackson’s awesome outfit, their baby dog as a ringbearer, Mariachi band and coolest Fleisher art Memorial that they chose as their venue - all these details made the day unforgettable. Looking at their gallery now, I can surely say that it couldn’t be a better match with any other couple full of soul and warmth and (not to brag) I don’t think any other photographer would be able to capture all those moments I captured for them and their families. Every. single.photo is a work of art and brings joy and smiles. I know it’s all they’ve ever wanted and beyond everything that I envisioned. My photojournalistic style that I developed from day one just bloomed into something extraordinary that day.
Photography is not about cameras…or lenses…or flashes. Photography is about heart and soul.
I am fascinated and so so so grateful for documenting this day for M&J.
Maria, Nick and I had one insanely magical night! Downpour, rainbow, firetruck and love in between. Here's a little sneak peek :)
This right here is everything you need to know about Dana and Mike and people they surrounded themselves with. Everything, from that fire in both Dana and Mike’s eyes, their smiles, their pure and lovely excitement about their wedding ( I couldn’t stop comparing them to little kids :)) These ridiculously beautiful and kind people with so much light and energy created the most amazing memories… They lit up the whole room, they danced the night away, the smiled, cried, hugged, kissed. I’m so happy we got to experience that night together. I’m so grateful for you, for your love, for the way you look at each other, for the way you love life and each other, and cherish moments above everything else. I’ll always remember you as “ crazy in love kids”... the happiest clients, the ocean- loving, fun, chill, excited, beautiful couple.
Here’s to forever.
This spring wedding was photographed by Inna Ovsepian Photography at the incredibly beautiful Icona Avalon. The couple got married at hotel’s veranda decorated with florals and lanterns by their amazing florists ( later we found out that they had to fight water because of the storm we got but no one could ever guess, that’s some great hard work behind the scenes!) Dana wanted to incorporate stairs for the first look ( just like in Titanic) and it was the sweetest and emotional moment for all of us.. Portraits were taken around the venue and at the taproom at the Hotel. See their engagement session here.
Lindsey and Joe and their love story could easily be in a movie. They are absolutely sweet and the moment when Joe got down on his knee had us all in awe :)
Prior to his surprise proposal, I carefully picked up champagne, 24 red roses, a love note and a blanket and hid it while making it look natural and at the same time made sure it won’t fly away ( if you know the rotonda spot in Philly behind Museum of Art, you know how windy it gets there, especially on a chilly day ;) The time has come, it was about 5 pm, I made sure to clear the spot and was ready to capture the sweetest moment. Joe and Lindsay came from Washington and were enjoying their day off in Philadelphia. Lindsey didn’t have any idea what was about to happen in the next 5 minutes. Joe opened the ring box and she quietly nodded after a few seconds…. :) That was the cutest and sweetest moment ever!!! We popped the champagne and took a walk around museum grounds. We got so lucky with a few early cherry trees being in bloom at the end of March. They kissed, hugged, smiled and could not take our eyes off the ring.
I can’t wait to work with these lovebirds for their wedding! Happy Engagement!
Chance asked the love of his life to marry him after being together for 2 years. She didn’t hesitate :) They traveled all the way from DC, it was their first time in Philly and look how it all worked out for them! Ring on her finger, happy tears and kisses and then it was time for a nice photo walk around Art Museum.
Don’t look back unless it’s a good view. Here is a little snippet of the past 12 months : feelings, places and people.
Thank you, 2018.

Prem surprised Sarah with a shiny heart shaped ring and VIP tour around Adventure Aquarium in Camden, NJ. The coolest part of this afternoon: divers with the sweetest sign “Will you marry me?”…. and Sarah’s reaction of course! :)
Congratulations on your engagement!
Thank you to Aquarium’s staff for being super caring and helpful.
