Alex and Clark turned their NYC engagement session into a whirlwind of exploring beautiful little corners throughout the city mixed with lots of smiles and jokes, some good food and burst of emotions :)
From rainy afternoon to this beautiful warm sunset… you can fit a lot in one day. And we did! I started the day in Long Island getting inspired at the Planting Fields Arboretum. Got to the city, hit some traffic, hit some more traffic, met Clark who helped me find a parking garage and that exact moment I knew that there was something so cool and special about this couple. I couldn’t believe how positive, kind, open, low key and excited they were. And the more we traveled from one location to another, the more we talked and the more I looked at them, the more I realized that they are different from all the couples I’ve met before. They have such a great connection. We roamed around West Village, found Percy Street and famous Carrie Bradshaw apartment that was getting tons of attention from tourists. Alex and Clark showed me their favorite iconic pizza place and we all enjoyed a slice while hoping the rain would stop by the time we hit Central Park. We got to the Park and sky magically opened up, giving us the most tender golden glow. We didn’t just stop at Bethesda Terrace, instead explored even more pretty spots, got to romantic Bow Bridge and hiked up, finally hit a beautiful location for silhouettes and finished by the pond. We even took a break on the gorgeous steps of the Met and did a night shot :)
Alex and Clark are young, beautiful, funny, in love with each other and in love with life. It was truly a joy to spend the day with them and I wish we could do it all over again! We would talk even more, try some other food and probably walk through entire Central Park ;)
On the way back, when we were sitting in a sticky subway wagon and I was going through the photos on my camera, I remember Clark saying that they looked like a movie… All I can think of is that we really had a “day from the movies” and life is really beautiful if in the middle of every day hustle and bustle we can pause, take a breath, look around and simply appreciate little things that life offers every day.
I am so sooo excited for their wedding day and all the moments we get to experience together. Thank you for the way you are. Clark said they’ re so happy they found me and I think that’s the best thing to hear from clients (who turn into friends).
